Notes of Interest

● Ricky Stenhouse Jr is ready to take a gamble as he heads to Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. After grinding out a 17th finish two weeks ago at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas and a 21st-place finish last week at Phoenix Raceway, Stenhouse will test his luck at another track where he was successful in the Xfinity Series. While the driver has struggled with the balance and speed in his racecar in the past at the 1.5-mile oval, Las Vegas will mark the first intermediate track on the 2025 season which is an area that the team worked on in the offseason. He finished a solid 17th at Las Vegas in the Spring race last season and hopes to show improvement as he has yet to finish outside the top-25 this season so far.

● Stenhouse is welcoming a real American sponsor this weekend at Las Vegas. Co-founded by WWE legend Hulk Hogan, Real American Beer (RAB) is a proudly American-owned and American-made premium light beer that delivers a crisp, clean, crushable taste at 4.2% ABV, 110 calories, and 4g carbs. Now available in 23 states and counting, RAB is on a mission to bring people together, one beer at a time. Learn more at therealamerican.com  and follow along on Instagram , Facebook  and X

● “Real American Beer belongs at the track, brother!” said Hulk Hogan, co-founder of Real American Beer, “NASCAR and Real American Beer—two real American institutions built on grit, passion, and community. This weekend, we’re rolling into Las Vegas Motor Speedway with No. 47 ready to run wild. Ricky knows what it means to push it to the limit, and there’s no better place for RAB than Las Vegas."

● Hulk's not the only one fired up for this weekend’s race at Las Vegas. Jimmy Hart, AKA "The Mouth of the South," will be at the track, repping Real American Beer with megaphone in hand and bringing his legendary energy to rev up Stenhouse and the No. 47 Hyak Motorsports crew.

● Sunday’s race at Las Vegas will mark Stenhouse’s 20th NASCAR Cup Series start on the 1.5-mile oval. In his 19 previous starts, he has scored a best finish of third in February 2020 where he led 30 laps while driving the No. 47 Chevrolet. Overall, he has scored a total of one top-five and two top-10s with 41 laps led.

● Outside of the NASCAR Cup Series, Stenhouse has an additional three starts all of which came in the Xfinity Series. After finishing 30th in his debut there in 2010, he followed that up with an eighth-place result in 2011 after starting third. In this third and final Xfinity Series start at the track, Stenhouse was victorious after starting sixth on March 10, 2012. He led 55 laps and crossed the finish line 5.906 seconds ahead of second-place Mark Martin for his third of eight total Xfinity Series career wins.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Driver of the No. 47 Real American Beer Chevrolet Camaro for Hyak Motorsports:

Over the past two seasons, you’ve averaged top-25 finishes at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. What more do you need to help break into the top-20 at not only Las Vegas, but other intermediate tracks?

“Las Vegas Motor Speedway has kind of been an up-and-down track for us. I feel like we’ve had speed at times, but with this new car, I feel like we’ve somewhat struggled. For sure the last time at Las Vegas, but we were trying some different things, so I think we know what made us not as good there. I’m looking forward to going back though. Mile-and-a-halves have been a place where we should run better theoretically based on the handling of our racecars and the speed we’ve had. We need to limit mistakes and make sure we have a good car this weekend.”

This is the first true 1.5-mile intermediate track of the season. What are your expectations for this Sunday’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway?

“This weekend’s race at Las Vegas is the first true test of the season for intermediates. Our road course stuff needs some work still, but I feel like we made our short track program better last weekend. We didn’t have the speed last Sunday that we should’ve but that damage early in the race didn’t help our case. This is one of the last tests to start the season when it comes to the different types of tracks, so I’m interested to see how we stack up at Las Vegas. I’m pumped up for this weekend to see if a lot of the stuff we worked on in the offseason will help. I’m looking forward to getting them on track to see if they pay off.”
